TATTOO SCHEME

Established 1 August 1991

It is a condition of membership of the Dobermann Club of Western Australia (Inc.) that all puppies born in or registered in Western Australia under a Prefix held by a member shall be tattooed with a number issued by the Dobermann Club of Western Australia (Inc.)

In recent times it has become apparent that some breeders are failing to return the required paperwork and/or fees to the Club.

Several years ago it was moved and passed at a Committee Meeting that a fine of $5.00 per month be imposed on any member who has not returned the paperwork/fees to the club within 4 weeks of the puppies being tatooed.

As from the 1st January 2004 the Dobermann Club of WA will enforce this in respect of any litter that is notified in the Canine News of the CAWA or whelped from that date.

The fee (currently $5.00 per puppy) associated with the issue of the numbers is not for the tatooing but to assist in funding the scheme.

Also due to damage caused to the Tattoo equipment the club has ceased the practice of lending the equipment. The Club has several Tattoo Officers who are able to provide a tattooing service.  If a breeder is experiencing difficulties for reasons such as remoteness, they are encouraged to contact the Club as early as possible so alternatives can be discussed, otherwise  tattooing must be conducted by our Club Tattoo Officer.

Note:  Motions passed as the AGM 15th February 2007.
